Why do candidates fail the exam?

When you apply for search engine evaluator jobs at Lionbridge and Appen, you have to pass a qualification exam that is quite difficult. Each company has a name for their search engine project. Appen’s Google Search Engine Evaluation project is called Yukon, and if you work for Lionbridge you work on the Internet Assessor, Rater, or Internet Safety Evaluator.

Despite all the fancy names, the exam is the same for these companies because the customer is the same but with different vendors. The biggest problem with this exam is that it is very hard. In fact, even Appen and Lionbridge explain in a welcome mail that there is a high chance of failing it. With that said, you’re going to need all the help you can get.

Studying the guidelines and doing the exam simulation practice are essential to successfully passing the actual exam.

I would like to thank you for the super useful exam simulation. I’m sure that almost everyone who can pass the theory part (part 1) has read the guideline several times but still nervous when the rating system Ul showing up. Taking a hard examination can be less stressful when I feel familiar with the Ul, especially at the Neet-Met part.

Hello! Although it is a really helpful tool i am not satisfied with the correct answer display. It would be really helpful if it would be more detailed. In the Search Result Satisfaction Part you normally only comment the Need Met part and not on the page quality rating. It would also be more helpful if you would give the person the right answer while the personal answers are still shown on the simulator. And on the page Quality part it is the same. the explanation on why the page has the rating is to shallow. Still thank you for the simulator. Lets hope I pass the exam tomorrow.

Thanks for feedback! In Needs Met test, most of results blocks have Needs Met and E-A-T (previously PQ) sliders. Main focus should be on providing correct Needs Met rating, which in some cases might be affected by E-T-A (PQ) rating when it comes to YMYL queries and results. Google re-named PQ to E-T-A in part 3 to make it clear that the most important aspects in PQ are expertise, trustworthiness and authority. In general it is similar to PQ concept. While giving E-T-A rating you should evaluate MC under these 3 criteria. In most cases you may do it fast at a first glance approach, but be sure to provide good evaluation for E-T-A when you have YMYL query.

Thanks for the tool , very useful when you don’t know what to expect in part 2 and 3 and access your self before giving the main Rater exam. If your score is falling below 70% in this stimulation test take time to read the guide lines again before jumping to the exam directly.

After failing my first attempt at the Lionbridge exam I conducted further online research. That led me here. I couldn't be more grateful for this simulation tool that Tim has created. Just understanding the process and interface was a huge help when it came to the test. By the time I got my second chance at the exam, I was ready. I knocked out Part 1 in about 10-15 minutes and because of this tool, I passed the 2nd and 3rd Part. Absolutely worth it. Even learning guideliness by heart may be not enough, so it's good to practice, but there are no training tasks provided. Simulator is good solution and Tim responds answers very quickly.

"Some candidates when accessing the link (www.raterhub.com/url ), got informed that Gmail account was unauthorized to visit the link. Most likely reason for this error is the fact of being logged on multiple Gmail accounts on a device. The solution for this problem is to go to android setting -> users & accounts -> add project associated Gmail account, then restart your device. This setting should fix the issue." After failing the second exam on my first attempt, I started looking for a way to improve for the second attempt. The tool is really exactly like the demo version. It gives you five more examples to practice for both exams. It is not perfect, but after all very helpful gaining some confidence rating web pages. My question asked via Facebook Messenger has been answered within an hour. It helped me to pass the exam and now I am on the Project. Thanks!

The excellent Tool with real-life cases that help you to pass the exam successfully. It values its money and even more. It was very hard for me to realize what skills and knowledge are needed for Accessor, but the Tool gave a better understanding.

It was too hard for me to understand :( I had no idea what it was talking about. Why do they make this so hard if they want people to work for them?
